Tico Travel

Your name?

Steve

Your Location (city, etc)

Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Went to school at the University of Costa Rica

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

1995 and it was for Costa Rica. It is the same URL you see now

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I like the name tico and since I wanted to do travel to Costa Rica and so it seemed the perfect fit.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We have been doing it for 17 years and we have a person that lives and travels througout Costa Rica so we are always up to date on everything that is happening.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

to keep the agency and keep it growing.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As more and more people learn and travel to costa rica, it more effort to keep ahead.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Try to make it more interactive

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I would like to think so.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The constant airfare changes in both rates, availability and schedule cahnges.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping up with technology

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Its been running since 1995 and will keep it running as long as possible

What is your website address?

Tico Travel
