Surgery in Europe or the United States can be dreadfully painful to one's pocket. The rates are just too high for anyone living in the middle class to endure.

This does not mean, though, that you cannot go on with your surgery, since you can go somewhere cheaper (but the quality is almost the same) like in Costa Rica. There's even an added bonus, as you'll get to enjoy Costa Rica's wonderful scenery while you are recovering.
