Something that hinders people from retiring in a foreign land is the fear of being alone and isolated. Who would want to stay in a foreign land if there not anyone with whom you share ethnic roots, anyway?
So when the time when you're retiring in a place like Costa Rica, you'll be probably looking for an expat community, right? Where are they? You will find out here in this forum.
